Fisting

Fisting is a form of intense anal stimulation. It is definitely not for beginners, and should only be attempted by guys who are experienced in anal play. In order to be fisted, your ass needs to be accustomed to having plugs and dildos inside, so it is able to relax and stretch. Fisting does not mean making a fist and forcing it into a guy’s hole. When fisting someone, the fingers are kept straight and bunched together with the thumb, making a duck’s bill or cone-shape with the hand. Use lots and lots of lube. Gently insert your fingertips into the other guys ass and slowly advance. Give the guy being fisted time to relax and time for his ass to slowly stretch. If you need to pause and add more lube, do so. Continue to slowly push your hand in until his ass expands enough and slides over your knuckles. At this point, your entire hand will be inside. When you remove your hand, again go slow. Allow his ass to expand and slide over your knuckles as you pull out.

A few important rules when it comes to fisting:

  • If you want to try fisting, either being fisted or fisting someone, talk about it first. Make sure you both agree and you know your limits.
  • Remember fisting is something you have to work your way up to over time. Using anal toys and gradually increasing their size may get you there if this is something you want. If you are not experienced in anal play, you should not try being fisted.
  • Use latex gloves. This is so important. Fingernails will scratch the anus as well as the lining of the rectum. Since this lining is thin, a simple scratch can in reality be a gash. These injuries can hurt, will bleed, and are often difficult to heal. For the guy doing the fisting, keep your fingernails short and wear a latex glove.
  • Use lots and lots of lube. If you plan to fuck after fisting, be sure to use water-based or silicone-based lube.
  • Go slow. If you are being fisted, you will need to relax and allow your sphincter, anus, and rectum to slowly stretch. If you are doing the fisting, pay attention to the amount of resistance. You may need to pause and allow his ass to accommodate how far you have gone before you try advancing further. If the guy being fisted is experienced at it, this may be easier.
  • Communicate. Let each other know how it is going. If you are being fisted, be sure to tell your partner if it is okay to keep advancing, whether you need to pause, or if you need to stop.

Fisting is not for everyone, and there are some risks. This much stretching can be hard on the lining of the rectum, and can cause tearing. This is particularly the case if you go too fast or you are new to being fisted. Fisting also carries a risk of HIV transmission. If the guy being fisted is HIV+, HIV can be concentrated in his rectal fluid and mucus and can be present if there is blood. If the guy doing the fisting has any cuts or abrasions on his hand or cracks in the skin next to his finger nails, HIV may be transmitted. Similarly, if the guy doing the fisting is HIV+, he can transmit HIV to the guy being fisted the same way. Thus, wearing latex gloves is very important. The other thing to remember is that fisting is hard on the lining of the rectum and can cause some tearing and bleeding. If you then fuck without a condom after fisting, there will be a significant risk of HIV transmission to either partner. Fisting also carries a risk of transmitting Hepatitis C, particularly if there is any bleeding, even a small amount. If you enjoy group play and more than one guy is being fisted, be absolutely sure to use a new, clean glove every time for every partner. Never go from one guy’s ass to another’s with the same glove. Similarly, keep the lube clean. Use lube that comes in pumps or squeeze bottles. Never use a pot of lube that you dip your hand into. Using the same glove or pot of lube will allow HIV, Hepatitis C and other infections to be passed from one guy to the next.

Lastly, getting fisted will stretch your anal sphincter and decrease your anal tone. This does not mean guys who get fisted are incontinent. The sphincter will remain functional and can be squeezed when necessary to avoid accidents. But the sphincter will be more lax.
